Dubai South Free Zone (DWC, Dubai World Central)

The Dubai South Free Zone was established in 2006 and is the most popular of all the Dubai free zone company formation possibilities. It focuses on aviation and logistics ecosystem that would eventually host the world’s largest airport, as well as a multi-modal transportation infrastructure that will connect air, land, and sea.

The free zone is located near to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC airport), was built between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as near the Jebel Ali seaport, to serve as a keystone of the region’s and world’s connectivity. DSW registration consists of a few stages:

  1. Initial approval.
  2. Visit for signature verification.
  3. Leasing of an office.
  4. Payment.
  5. Registration.

UAE Residence Visas in Dubai South City Amendments Liquidating a Dubai South Company

If the applicant is in the UAE at the time of his visa application, the fee will be increased to 3,500 AED per application.

Before the visa is stamped into your passport, you will need to make health insurance. Basic insurance costs between 600 and 800 AED.

Company Owners' and employees' visas will be valid for three years.

A wide range of possible adjustments are available in the free zone:

  • Change of name and activity.
  • Changes in the number of shareholders, managers, directors, and secretaries.
  • Improvements to the facility.

Some of which will require a personal visit to the free zone or a Power of Attorney.

For liquidation, business owners do not need to be present, also the government fee will be about 4, 000 AED.

The following actions must be completed prior to the liquidation:

  • Visas are being revoked.
  • Lease agreement expiration.
  • The bank account was closed.
  • If you had a trade operation in the license, you needed to get clearance from Customs.
